Apple eMac

The Apple eMac "700", originally exclusively for education, but later available for both the consumer and education markets, features a 700 MHz PowerPC 7441 (G4) processor with the AltiVec "Velocity Engine" vector processing unit and a 256k on-chip level 2 cache, 128 MB of RAM (PC100 SDRAM), a 40.0 GB Ultra ATA hard drive, a tray-loading 24X/10X/32X CD-RW drive for the consumer market (8X/12X/8X/32X DVD-ROM/CD-RW Combo Drive after August 13, 2002) and the choice of either a 32X CD-ROM drive or an 8X/12X/8X/32X DVD-ROM/CD-RW Combo Drive for the education market (CD-ROM option discontinued on February 4, 2003) , and NVIDIA GeForce2 MX graphics acceleration with 32 MB of DDR SDRAM in a compact all-in-one case with a 17.0" (16.0" viewable area) CRT display (resolution support up-to 1280x960 in 24-bit color). The eMac series ships with an ice white Apple Pro Keyboard and Mouse, and can be configured with either MacOS 9.2 or MacOS X v.10.1 as the default operating system. Custom configurations were also available.
